My name is Lisa Brown and I am originally from Sacramento, California. I went to Chico State and was a member of ITC, an accelerated teacher’s program. I received my degree in Liberal Studies and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential while at Chico State. At this time I worked in 5th and 1st grade classes. After college I moved to San Bruno and taught at San Bruno Unified School District for two years and taught 5th and 6th grade. In 2010 I made the move to Sonoma County for the opportunity to teach at Alexander Valley School. At first I taught 6th grade and have now made the move to 2nd grade. I currently live in Santa Rosa.
In my free time I love to read, especially historical fiction. I also enjoy reading books that my students are reading. I am always up for a good suggestion of books to read, especially if I have a student to talk about it with. My favorite food is pizza (After working in three pizza places I know my pizza!) I played soccer for 12 years but my favorite sport to watch is baseball.
I am currently a Masters student at Sonoma State. I am purposing my Masters in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning with an Educational Technology emphasis. I am learning new and engaging ways to teach my students, especially in the area of technology. I am integrating technology into different areas of the curriculum. I am also teaching my students the skills to be 21st learners and digital citizens.
